LIVE DATA STATUS
Images are prepared on Cloudflare every 15 minutes, even with no visitors.
NOAA nowCOAST supplies five-minute regional imagery over North America and nearby
Pacific areas, on an hourly global mosaic that can lag by 2–3 hours.
Natural color, air mass, and dust use three-hourly EUMETSAT composites (CC BY 4.0).
Times above show the available source frames; refresh time is not observation time.
The day/night boundary uses the current clock and updates every 30 seconds.
Satellite images retain their separate observation times. Natural-color gaps
can remain where it was dark when the image was captured; use infrared for
day-and-night cloud coverage.
Polar and missing coverage reveal the base Earth map. Satellite imagery is observational,
not a forecast. Event reports come from GDACS, the NOAA National Hurricane Center,
and the U.S. National Weather Service. Storm pins show advisory positions;
these can differ from an older satellite image.
